well it's up in the morning
get some caffeine wash away my dreams
put on the same old clothes and
jump into the throws of whats become my routine
I'm tired of the same old grind
when I was growing up this is not what I had in mind
I thought I'd be so far beyond this but it is what it is and what it is

started out just like the one I lived through yesterday
and tomorrow could be the day when it all changes

now it's off to the office time to fight the traffic
I must have hit every red light on the way
and the work is only half done and I just want to move on
but there's to much work in the way

I'm broken down busted I'm against the wall
I don't know how I wound up here
thought iI did it all right lead a respectable life
but everything I worked for is slipping away
seems like I've been taken advantage of by the ones who gain the most
seems like their always using me to make them
and now here come the money men wanting more from the government

seems like their always taking more from me

never thought that good dads went away

and moms doing alright even though she's still lonely
